Pole tents require stakes to be pounded into the surface they’re set up on–and in the case of concrete, it will require drilling holes into the surface–so if you do not want to have holes in your concrete or the headache associated with getting them there, you may want to consider going with a frame tent.
Asphalt, however, is much more forgivable and therefore an ideal choice for pole tent set up.
